"Why do you do that?" she asks me after I give, what I think, is a fairly blunt statement.
"Do What?" I ask, dumbly.
"Never just say what you mean," she tells me.
Ah, many people ask me this. I think it's pretty simple, though.
"I always say exactly what I mean to say," I inform her. "That's why it's so confusing. Everyone else hides behind words that seem so straightforward. So easy to believe."
People always fall for the lies, the masks, the bullshit...because it's so much easier to just absorb what you hear and believe automatically that what someone is telling you is true. It takes a lot more effort to think about a statement and be forced to find the truth in it for yourself.
